Need advice from Avon reps about Processing Fee?

I've been selling for about 6 months now and my biggest hurdle is the 75 cent processing fee. It seems to be the road block between getting a customer and not getting a customer. When I sold about 5 years ago I never charged that fee. My upline is telling me to ignore the complaints and keep right on charging. I feel I should just do way with that fee and cover the 38 cents myself. I feel that it just might help me gain some really good customers. What do you think?
